A Copper Bottom Cookware Set Is A Must Have Item In Every Kitchen

By Ned Dagostino

There are a lot of options for cookware in your kitchen, but if you're not using a copper bottom cookware set, you need to rethink your selection. Cooking with copper really does make a difference.

When you get it home, you'll notice the difference immediately. In fact you notice before you get anywhere near the kitchen. When you remove the pots and pans from the box you'll be amazed at how light they really are. It's quite a contrast from the much heavier cast iron. They're so light in fact you may even feel like you've been cheated. But contrary to popular belief among some people, just because something is light does not mean it is cheap.

You might not think that a reduced weight is a strong rationale for a new cookware purchase, but you'll learn to appreciate the way light copper makes pan manipulation easier. You'll also enjoy it every time you pull out a pot for use or put one away.

There's something else you'll notice before you begin to cook with your new purchase. The copper bottom cookware set looks great. In fact the appearance is one reason why, when you visit an upscale restaurant, you'll often see them hanging from hooks in the open. The cookware offers both a classic and rustic look.

So think about this before you go out and buy them. You may just want to get a wall or ceiling rack of your own. You'll want people to see your new copper bottom cookware set. You may have heard that the copper is hard to clean. Don't let that deter you. There are now a number of products on the market designed to help you keep those copper bottoms looking good. And the best ones won't require any more effort from you than you would expend scrubbing your current cookware.

But the best thing about copper is how it works in your kitchen. Once you cook with it you will really appreciate what you have just purchased. Copper is truly responsive. All you need to do is turn the dial on your stove and your cookware will change temperatures almost immediately. That means if your pan seems to be hotter than you'd like, just lower the flame and the temperature in the pan will adjust accordingly almost right away.

A copper bottom cookware set also gives you a great opportunity to cook evenly. That's because copper is highly conductive. The heat moves across it quickly and uniformly. You won't have pots and pans with hot spots and you'll be able to count on even cooking every time.

There are many other reasons you'll love a copper bottom cookware set, but those three alone should be more than enough to convince you to ditch whatever you're currently using and make the switch. With copper you get a conductive and responsive metal that's easy to work with because it's so lightweight. And it looks great too. Can your current cookware do all that?
